Our Canine Camp and Train programme offers a genuinely immersive approach to dog training. Rather than fitting sessions around a busy home schedule, your dog receives focused, professional attention every single day, building new habits in a consistent and structured environment. It is an ideal solution for owners who want to see real, lasting change without delay.
The programme runs for a minimum of one week, with at least two hours of dedicated training delivered each day. Every session is tailored to your dog's individual needs, whether the priority is addressing a specific behavioural problem, improving obedience, or working through reactivity that has made daily walks stressful and unpredictable.
Camp and Train is not a one-size-fits-all boarding arrangement. It is a purposeful, structured training programme delivered by an experienced professional who works with your dog directly in real-world environments. Sessions cover both behavioural training and obedience training, and the approach is adapted as your dog progresses throughout the week.
Behavioural work may include reactivity towards other dogs or people, aggression, anxiety-driven responses, and other complex issues that require consistent, patient handling. Obedience training covers the core commands and practical skills that make everyday life with your dog safer and more enjoyable. Both strands are woven together throughout the programme so that your dog is learning to think clearly and respond reliably in a range of situations.
We are proud to welcome reactive dogs and XL Bullies onto this programme. We understand that owners of these dogs are often turned away elsewhere, and we believe every dog deserves a fair chance with the right professional support behind them.
One of the unique aspects of our Camp and Train offering is the flexibility it gives you as an owner. You are not required to travel home and return at the end of the week. Instead, clients are welcome to stay at a campsite of their choice in the local area, keeping you close to your dog and available to take part in handover sessions and progress reviews as the week unfolds.
This arrangement means you can observe your dog's development first-hand, ask questions as they arise, and begin practising the new skills yourself before you head home. The transition back to normal life is smoother when owners have been present and involved, and that is exactly what this format encourages.
You will never be left wondering how your dog is getting on. Regular progress updates are provided throughout the programme so you are kept fully informed at every stage. These updates give you a clear picture of what has been covered, how your dog has responded, and what the focus will be in the sessions ahead.
In addition to written or verbal updates, video updates are included as standard. Seeing your dog in action during a training session is far more meaningful than a written summary alone. Video updates allow you to watch your dog's progress unfold, understand the techniques being used, and feel confident about continuing the work once you return home together.
The Canine Camp and Train programme is priced at £750 per week, with a minimum commitment of one week. This reflects the intensity of the programme, the level of professional expertise involved, and the significant amount of time dedicated to your dog each day. For dogs with more complex needs, a longer programme may be recommended following an initial assessment.
All training delivered through the Camp and Train programme uses traditional, reward-based methods. We do not use e-collars or shock collars under any circumstances. Our approach is built on building trust, clear communication, and positive reinforcement, creating a dog that responds willingly rather than out of fear. This is the foundation of everything we do at Train Your Dog, and it runs through every session of this programme without exception.
